Through this tragedies, Karen became ruthless and coldhearted to swore revenge on the people from the moon and planning to save Alice to prevent her from turning into an Other. One day during their mission, Alice seemly turned into an other and suddenly disappear. Karen and Fubuki became the Major Generals who are known as Septentrions while Alice became a scout. Karen acquired Brain Eater, while Luka has teleportation ability. They were taken to the OSF Hospital to be experimented with Psionic. Much like the protagonist, Yuito Sumeragi, Karen and his brother, Luka were born without Psionic powers meaning they were duds. Karen once has a good life with his childhood friends Fubuki Springs and Alice Ichijo.

Karen is also manipulative when he killed Yakumo Sumeragi, the founding father of the Sumeragi Family and used his mask to disguise himself as Yakumo to manipulate the Sumeragi descendants in his revenge.ĭespite his unstable actions, Karen shown to be honorable. He doesn't care for anyone even if they either work for him or doesn't trust him (mainly Kasane).
